Forest Walk

This forest walk along the different trails of the park can reward you with a number of species for birders this is an opportunity to see 350 species of birds in Bwindi national park . In Mgahinga  79 species have so far been recorded. The walk in Bwindi will reward you with other 11 kinds of primates, forest elephants, monkeys, chimpanzees, antelopes bush bucks and many species of butterflies.  In bwindi you can take a walk along the water fall trail and this walk takes 3 hours to and from the park headquarters.

Community Interaction

You can go for a community walk in the neighbouring villages, meet tea pickers, farmers, people in markets, and cultural groups. You may also go visit the pygmy community in Bwindi. The walk takes about two hours and begins with a stroll through a small tea farming project, here you can stop to meet the tea pickers and perhaps even learn how to pluck tea leaves along the way.  Then visit a local beer brewery and see how they mash bananas to make a fermented brew which is mixed and distilled to make banana beer – a popular local drink in the area!  Visit the batwa community and Later, relax and enjoy a performance by the Batwa pygmy community before returning to the lodge.
